Puma Roma 68 OG History
Originally released in 1968, the Puma Roma 68 OG was created to celebrate the Italian national football team’s European championship win. Over half a century later, the classic silhouette returns with its premium leather top, suede formstrips, and special edition Roma '68 gold detailing.
Back in the ‘60s, this Puma sneaker was initially introduced as a training shoe specifically designed for the track. It was used by athletes and trainers for sprinting, hurdling, and other sports-related activities. A German athlete, named Armin Harry, was also seen wearing a pair of Puma Rome when he crossed the finish line at Rome Olympics in 1960.
The Puma Roma became a well-liked trainer in the ‘70s and was introduced as one of the casual classics in the “80s. It has been re-released several times over the last five decades and has now been revived in a duo of retro-inspired colorways.
