Puma GV Special Geometric History

In over 37 years of its existence, the Puma GV Special was derived from the famous Argentinian tennis star player of the 70s and 80s named Guillermo Vilas. First released in 1980, Vilas' initials were stuck to the shoe's label forever.

The tennis superstar teamed up with Puma to create an iconic shoe that would match his playing preferences and winning style. Vilas and Puma came up with a tennis sneaker with an excellent cushioning system and durable construction in an all-white classic tennis shoe design.

Through the years, the Puma GV Special has retained its classic silhouette in a number of colorways. In 2016, Puma released a more stylish design of the GV Special dubbed as the Puma GV Special Geometric.
