Puma Guard Demi Style
The mid-top Puma Guard Demi is constructed using sleek leather upper and smooth, padded textile lining. It borrows some of the prominent features of its hi-top hardcourt siblings made into a more streetwear fashion-ready version. Its solid-colored upper is suitable with a pair of denim, joggers, and tapered pants.
The mid-top Puma Guard Demi has a contemporary look reminiscent of the Sky Hi basketball shoes yet made with a lower collar height that is just about the same level as the ankle. Its crossover strap feature on the upper lifted from many basketball and cross-training sneaker designs offers a secured fit. The forefoot has perforations that allow air to pass through in and out of the shoe.
Puma Guard Demi History
The NBA games have made such a significant impact in the lives of its die-hard fans particularly in the 1990s that made basketball a favorite sport at that time. Footwear brands worldwide responded aggressively to the increasing interest over basketball by coming up with hoop shoes that appeal to the individual needs of hardcourt enthusiasts.
Puma took action and dropped high-top sneakers meant to provide support to the feet during quick lateral movements. The brand came up with retro-style varieties made of leather that go above the ankle in height, such as the Puma Sky LX, succeeded by the Puma Sky Hi, Puma Sky Hi II Core, plus other variations.
In the Spring/Summer of 2016, Puma updated its basketball collection into style savvy streetwear kicks. One of the refashioned products introduced by the brand is the Guard Demi. It has the same aesthetic features of a basketball shoe with a collar height reduced to a demi cut. This court-inspired sneaker comes fashionably with a single hook and loop strap on the upper.
