Updates to Puma Emergence
- Streetwear or gymwear? Why choose when you can have both? The Puma Emergence is designed for male and female athletes looking for a workout trainer that could double as everyday footwear. It is made of lightweight materials like the knitted upper that supports natural foot mobility.
- A full-length ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam makes up the midsole of the Puma Emergence. It offers impact protection and the wide heel construction keeps the rearfoot steady. The same compound is used for the outsole but it has been manufactured to be more rigid than the midsole to protect the underfoot against abrasion.
Puma Emergence size and fit
Made for athletic men and women in mind, the Puma Emergence is available in US sizes 7 to 14 and 5.5 to 11, respectively, including half and full sizes in between. As for the width, it only comes in a medium profile for both models, which is D for gentlemen and B for ladies. The upper utilizes a knitted material that provides a sock-like fit while the lace-up structure helps achieve a tighter fit.
The outsole of this Puma training shoe uses ground contact EVA. Though it is the same compound which is used for the midsole, the bottom structure is crafted to withstand abrasion associated with training on various surfaces. Flex grooves are present at the forefoot to promote natural movements while the heel is designed to be relatively flat to help keep the rearfoot steady. The tread pattern on the underside provides traction on and off gym floors.
A full-length EVA foam makes up the midsole of the Puma Emergence. This platform is lightweight, resilient, and protects the foot against impact. The broad heel construction provides rearfoot stability.
Inside the trainer is the SoftFoam+ sockliner. This element delivers an extra layer of comfort and prevents the foot from slipping inside the shoe.
The Puma Emergence sports a slip-on construction with a modern bootie collar that hugs the ankle for a sock-like fit. It features a lacing system that allows users to tighten the fit if needed.
Fabric loops are attached on the tongue and back of the collar. These components make it easier for wearers to pull on the shoe.
A rubber lace-through is found at the midfoot which aims to enhance lateral support when the laces are cinched. The structures connect to the synthetic overlay that wraps the heel for steadiness.
The upper is crafted from a flexible knit fabric. This material accommodates the natural expansion of the foot that happens during workouts. It is breathable, plus the rear panel has perforations that aid in the interior ventilation.
