Puma Disc Blaze CT History
“Innovation” is a term commonly used by athletic footwear brands. Puma, however, has proven time and again that they are capable of living up to its true definition. Considered as one of the forerunners of shoe technology, they were the first to introduce a laceless fastening mechanism.
Making a debut in the year 1991 in the form of a runner, the Puma Disc Blaze stood out for its revolutionary closure system dubbed as the Puma Disc. Aside from this innovation, the brand also saw it fit to don this product with an upper made of a mix of materials, an asymmetrical toe cap and a Trinomic tech-infused sole, thus offering premium cushioning as well as enhanced durability.
In spite of its groundbreaking design, the production of this model ceased in the year 1993. Thankfully, the brand re-released the model in 2008. Its return, though, was overshadowed by the launch of more popular silhouettes.
Seeing the shoe’s potential of becoming a future icon, the brand, with the help of famous New York sneaker designer Ronnie Fieg, gave this shoe a third life. Reconstructed with a traditional toe cap and a striking colorway, the iteration, known as the Ronnie Fieg x Puma OG Disc “Cove”, finally got the attention it deserves.
Soon after, this sports shoe turned lifestyle footwear has been subjected to many collaborations. It has also been outfitted with a wide array of materials, styles and colors. A fairly new release, the Puma Disc Blaze CT was launched under the radar back in the year 2016. Despite the lack of ads, this shoe still managed to sell out, although not instantly.

With its unisex design, women can also get a pair that is 1.5 smaller than their usual choice.
