Good to know

The Puma Cell Surin 2 Matte is a workout shoe designed for men. It features an upper made of matte nubuck, which is crafted to protect and support the foot during training. The sole unit is made of the 10CELL technology. It is engineered to cushion impact and deliver comfort with each step.

It is easy to mistake the Cell Surin 2 Matte with the Cell Surin 2 FM as they look so much alike. They use the same technologies for the midsole and the outsole, but the main difference lies in the upper. Cell Surin 2 FM uses traditional leather.

The outsole of the Puma Cell Surin 2 Matte is designed with distinct forefoot and heel sections. It is lined with the EverTrack rubber, a compound that has been engineered to be durable to withstand working out on rough surfaces. It features a tread pattern that promotes multi-directional traction. It also has flex grooves that facilitate natural foot bending.

The Puma Cell Surin 2 Matte is equipped with the 10CELL technology. This foamless cushioning material is manufactured using polyurethane (PU) elastomer cells that lasts longer than traditional foam. It attenuates shock and can retain 90% of its plushness even after 600 miles of wear.

At the arch area, in between the midsole and the outsole, is the shank. This reinforcing detail uses thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), a type of plastic that is sturdy and works to prevent twisting at the midfoot. The TPU shank is a motion control feature, ensuring a smooth heel-to-toe transition.

Protecting the foot against harsh elements is the matte nubuck upper. Nubuck is a type of leather that has been sanded to give the shoe its suede-like appearance. This material is not known to be breathable; thus this model has perforations at the vamp and the heel to help keep the foot chamber fresh.

A lacing system dons the midfoot of the Puma Cell Surin 2 Matte. It keeps the foot securely in place while also allowing users to adjust the tightness or looseness of the fit. To aid in the breathability, the tongue and the interior are lined with a soft mesh fabric.

The collar is padded to help keep the foot locked in. The plush rear also prevents chafing at the Achilles area.

Visible on both sides of the footwear is the Puma Formstrip. This element not only enhances the look of the trainer but it also improves the lateral support of the upper.
