Puma Basket Bow History

Following the success of the Puma Suede Bow that launched as part of a campaign led by Puma brand ambassador and supermodel Cara Delevingne, Puma also took the iconic basketball-inspired Basket silhouette and transformed it into a chic and feminine-meets-sporty kind of sneakers by incorporating an oversized bow in the heel.

Released worldwide on September 13, 2018, the Puma Basket Bow drew inspirations from the classic silhouette and features a full leather upper and suede or satin Formstrip for that signature branding. The shoe is a women’s exclusive model and a part of Puma’s Do You campaign which aims to inspire women with confidence and individuality.

The low-top Puma Basket Bow initially released in four colorways including the classic Puma White – Puma Black, Puma white – winsome Orchid, Whisper White – Puma Aged Silver, and Puma Black. Several more colorways followed including but not limited to Blue Flower and Pearl.   

Puma Basket Bow Style

The Puma Basket Bow is a low-top basketball-inspired sneaker based on the classic Puma Basket silhouette. It features the signature Basket tooling, but dressing up the heel is an oversized bow for a sweet and chic statement that balances out the athletic side of the classic silhouette. The upper is made of leather for that street style aesthetic, while the signature Puma Formstrip comes in suede or satin for a bit of a premium touch. The Basket Bow can be worn with shorts, jeans, or dresses for a sporty and feminine look combined.

Fit & Sizing

Ladies can have these beautiful Puma sneakers in women’s sizing that ranges from 5 to 11 in Medium or Standard width. It is constructed with a low-top profile, which offers flexible foot movement while being supportive. This basketball-inspired shoe is further equipped with a lace-up closure system in elastic laces for a snug fit.

Notable Features

The Puma Basket received another modern-day upgrade through the Puma Basket Bow. This recent rendition of the iconic basketball turned lifestyle shoe still looks visually similar to the OG versions, except for one vivid detail that can be difficult to ignore.
