Who is it for? The OluKai Alapa is designed for men in search of a comfortable pair of every day walking shoes. It is designed with a light and breathable top to ensure that strolling on the beach, up the mountains, or around the city would be a pleasurable experience.

What is it for? This pair of OluKai walking shoes is crafted for every day walks, whether you are running errands, enjoying the beach, or taking a relaxing trek. Boat aficionados can also benefit from its grippy outsole, not letting them slip on wet decks.

Traction. Wet Grip Rubber is used to line the bottom of the OluKai Alapa. It features siping that amplifies the grip on slippery surfaces.

The island theme of the footwear is embodied with how the rubber pods were placed. They mimic waves, and the tread pattern looks like ripples.

Shock absorption. A compression-molded EVA foam makes up the primary midsole of the OluKai Alapa. This full-length compound dulls the shock of each footstep to keep the wearer going.

Comfort. The Alapa features a single-density polyurethane (PU) footbed. It is anatomically designed to provide custom underfoot coverage. It is constructed to cup the heel while the raised arch delivers support. Because the insole is removable, custom orthotics can replace it if needed.

Hygiene. Covering the insert is a moisture-wicking textile. It has been treated with anti-microbial agents that prevent the development of foot odor. It is also washable, so you can ensure that your feet won’t get stinky with regular use.

Coverage. The top of the OluKai Alapa uses a two-tones mesh to provide a protective wrap against the elements. This material is soft and breathable, aiding in temperature control of the foot chamber. The inside wall is covered with a microfiber that has moisture-wicking properties.

Construction. No laces or straps are used on the Alapa. Instead, elastic gores are used to connect the vamp to the quarters. They stretch out to accommodate the foot as it comes in or out and settles back to prevent the shoe from flying off the foot.

The slip-on style can be converted into a slider. Just fold down the back leather panel to make it more accessible whenever needs. The patented Drop-In Heel provides wearers the option of having more rearfoot security or freedom of movement.

  • Alapa is a Hawaiian term that means active, which you’ll be when wearing this pair of OluKais. They look so good you want to be seen wearing them.
  • The covering of the footbed is adorned with tropical flowers. It gives off a chill vibe, reminiscent of the island life in Hawaii.
