Who should buy the Oboz Arete Low
The Oboz Arete Low men's and women's hiking shoes make great footwear choices for people who enjoy extraordinary outdoor adventures. It is a solid option if you:
- Prefer a hiking shoe that provides added support and durability.
- Prefer a hiking shoe that offers flexibility and freedom of movement.
- Prefer a hiking shoe that provides toe protection and prevents over-flexion.
Size and fit
The Arete hikers are low-top footwear only available in standard widths. It also has standard feet volume, which means people who have wider feet with higher arches and insteps may find it a bit too narrow. Meanwhile, the mesh upper comfortably hugs the foot and the lace-up closure lets the wearer achieve a snug fit.
Sticky and suitable for rough terrain
This shoe features the Tempest Outsole by Oboz. The multidirectional lugs make it really sticky and suitable for relatively rough terrain.
Excellent stability
There are also flex grooves on the toe and heel sections which enable the wearer to move comfortably without losing balance or stability.
Boost torsional flex and the natural movement of the foot
Another reason why the Arete Low is so light is that it makes use of a single-density EVA midsole. Between the upper and the midsole are two TPU stabilizers that boost torsional flex and the natural movement of the foot.
Comfortable footbed equipped with O FIT Insole
This hiker comes with the O FIT Insole, a removable footbed that is molded to match the specific shape and construction of the shoe, therefore delivering a more precise fit, feel, and performance.
Breathable and durable
Constructed using performance mesh, the Arete Low boasts great breathability. The synthetic TPU overlays not only enhance the structure and support of the shoe, but they also make it more durable. Trails can be full of hazards - sharp rocks, sticks, and all sorts of debris. To ensure that the toes are protected, a TPU cap is welded into the shoe. It also provides durability when moving quickly. The Arete shoes are also equipped with integrated shanks that provide support while adding stability.
Easy to adjust lacing system
Completing the upper is a lace-up closure that enables the wearer to adjust the fit whenever needed.
Nice to know
Another model features the B-DRY Waterproof, an Oboz proprietary waterproofing system that keeps water out while letting sweat escape. This model is known as the Oboz Arete Low Waterproof or Oboz Arete Low B-DRY.
