Who is it for? The Northwave Razer is a bike shoe recommended to passionate mountain bikers who are looking for the following features in their MTB footwear:

  • Breathable and comfortable
  • Clipless
  • Efficient power transfer

Stiff. The Northwave Razer employs the XC 10 sole, which has a stiffness rating of 10 out of 15 in the brand's index chart. This sole is composed of a mixture of Nylon and fiberglass.

Grip. Rubber pads are placed throughout the outsole for traction off-bike. Additional slots for toe studs are also available for when the trails are extra slippery and muddy. Note that the toe studs are sold separately.

Replaceable heel pads. This feature lengthens the pair's life and, in turn, provides the owner with value for their money. Moreover, the traction can also be reset, giving the wearer confidence in slippery surfaces.

The Razer MTB shoe features the traditional two-bolt cleat system. Some of the pedals that are suitable for this model are Shimano XT PD-M8020, Nukeproof Horizon CS, and Crank Brothers Mallet E.

Comfort. This pair's synthetic upper is crafted using the brand's BioMap Unibody upper construction. It prevents pressure points and rubbing.

Durable and breathable. Thermo-welded TPU reinforcements are placed in high-wear areas for protection and abrasion-resistance. Mesh inserts are also situated throughout the upper for excellent airflow.

Lockdown. The Northwave Razer's snug fit is secure by the combination of SLW2 dial, asymmetric lacing, and micro strap. The dial is the only one that features step-by-step tightening and loosening as well as instant release in a single button. This dial manages the asymmetrical lacing, which is designed to remove pressure from the top of the foot.

The micro strap secures the forefoot area.

The Northwave Razer employs a Performance Regular insole, which is cushioned for enhanced overall comfort.
