Use - The Nike Zoom SD 3 is engineered specifically rotational and glide techniques. With such configuration, it can accommodate a multitude of throwing meets. It yields optimal traction and support in events such as shot put, javelin, and discus throw.
Specially designed to optimize the thrower’s glide technique, the cross-rocker of the shoe is trimmed down; it exhibits a more leveled exterior.
The rubber outsole of the Nike Zoom SD 3 is made out of a much pliable compound. This amplifies not only comfort but also the grip and ground control of the athlete.
For the upper, the main design principle is to eliminate wasted weight. That is why it is made of synthetic leather that employs minimal weight while increasing security.
The Zoom SD 3 from Nike only runs in men’s sizing measurement. It is fashioned using the standard width. Women are advised to deduct 1.5 from their usual size preference for accurate fit and size.
The components of the Zoom SD 3 that affect its fit are the synthetic leather upper, EVA midsole foam, forefoot plate, and the dual lockdown system. The upper envelopes around the foot, offering a snug wrap. The EVA sockliner promotes cushioning and added support. Meanwhile, the forefoot plate keeps the foot in place for security. Lastly, the dual security system effectively delivers both support and lockdown.
Running full-length on the outsole of the Zoom SD 3 is a high-strength rubber. Because of its durability, it withstands natural wear and tear and prevents deterioration from abrasive track elements. It is also made of more supple compounds. This composition allows for a more natural flex on foot—integral for glides and rotations.
There are some flex grooves located on the rubber outsole of the throwing platform. These boost the range of motion permitted by the track shoe.
Intended for ease of rotation, a pivot point is also incorporated.
To pronounce the comfort within the foot chamber of the Nike Zoom SD 3, an EVA footbed is embedded. It is made of TPU pellets that promote cushioning and supply the appropriate amount of rebound. It employs minimal weight, cohering to the featherlight fashion of the track shoe.
For heightened stability, a cross-rocker is placed at the forefoot of the throwing shoe.
Built for resilience and sturdiness, the Zoom SD 3’s upper is constructed using synthetic leather. It wraps generously around the foot, providing comfort and lockdown. This upper configuration also poses for lightness, preventing drag.
For added support, a nylon forefoot plate is introduced. It keeps the foot locked in place.
Just like most throwing shoes, a dual fastening system is incorporated. A hook and loop closure comes across the lacing system, powering lockdown and support. This prevents unwanted shoe removal, especially during glides and rotations.
