Nike Zoom Heritage: Salute to Native America!

Nike’s Zoom Heritage pays homage to the native American and aboriginal communities in the United States. Designed by renowned Tinker Hatfield, this Nike shoe offers the following:

Lightweight cushioning. These basketball shoes are equipped with Zoom Air, which is a highly effective cushioning system that does not add so much weight.

Durable support. Durability and an effective lockdown is ensured by the upper, which is a part leather and a part textile.

Hatfield’s Favorite Project

The various colorways of the Nike Zoom Heritage feature intricate beadwork patterns that pay tribute to Native Americans and their version of basketball called the rez ball. Due to its social significance, world-renowned Nike designer Tinker Hatfield says that this shoe has become one of his favorite projects in the company.

Nike Zoom Heritage and the N7 Connection

Since 2009, the Swoosh through the Nike N7 initiative has supported causes that relate to native Americans and aboriginal communities. The Nike Zoom Heritage is just one of the long list of basketball shoes and other products that Nike N7 has produced.

Dimitrije Curcic has been playing basketball for over 22 years. Like Manu Ginobili, he’s a left-hander whose moves led him to a better career-shooting percentage than the Argentine himself. After playing professionally for 10 years, Dimitrije moved to coaching for two seasons before he became a basketball statistician for StatScore, and FanSided contributor for the San Antonio Spurs. Dimitrije loves to tell hoop stories through numbers and graphics and has been featured on Fansided, FiveThirtyEight, Eurohoops, and TalkBasket among the others.
