Updates to Nike Zoom Domination
- The Nike Zoom Domination is a training shoe catering to male athletes that practice high-intensity workouts. It uses lightweight materials such as the textile upper that promote movement and support.
- The trainer utilizes the Zoom Air midsole. It is a low-profile cushioning unit that uses pressurized air to absorb shock.
- Another technology employed by this footgear is the Flywire cables. These strings integrate with the lacing system to enhance the lateral support of the upper.
Nike Zoom Domination size and fit
The Nike Zoom Domination is generally true to size and width. It caters to male athletes and is available in US half and full sizes, from 6 to 15. For the width, it only comes in a D - Medium profile. The presence of the Flywire cables on the midfoot provides a snug fit when needed.
The Nike Zoom Domination features an exposed midsole, but the hard-wearing areas are covered with rubber pods. This compound is crafted to deliver a lightweight yet durable protection. The placement of the pods also facilitates flexibility, allowing the foot to bend and move naturally. The tread pattern on this model also promotes multidirectional surface grip.
Providing lightweight comfort to the Nike Zoom Domination is the Zoom Air cushioning. This technology utilizes a flexible urethane capsule to trap pressurized gas and deliver a structure that attenuates shock. The unit is also responsive as it is able to recover fast after being compressed because the air is pressurized.
Keeping the foot in place is the textile upper. This material is lightweight, flexible, and durable. It also employs synthetic overlays on the toe box, the quarters, and the eyestay to protect the fabric against abrasion. There’s also a plastic overlay at the back, serving as an external heel counter to keep the heel steady during workouts.
For fit adjustment, the Nike Zoom Domination is equipped with a traditional lace-up closure. There are noticeable Flywire cables integrated with some of the eyelets to enhance the lateral support when the laces are cinched.
Adding to the snug fit is the lightly padded tongue and collar. There’s also a heel loop at the back of the collar which aids users in pulling the shoe up quickly.
- Nike has released an update, the Nike Zoom Domination TR 2. This new model still employs the Zoom Air unit, but the upper has been revamped with stability elements at the rearfoot.
