Nike x Kim Jones Air Max 360 High History

Following the long and rich history of Nike's Air Max range, the Swoosh brand wanted a new and innovative model with the athletes in mind for their next release. Nike thought of creating a performance shoe that's completely foamless without sacrificing comfort and cushioning, of course. After almost two decades of research, the company finally introduced their Caged Air technology in 2006 on the aptly named Nike Air Max 360.

The Air Max 360 was heralded for its excellent performance and innovative technology. In the following years since its introduction, numerous versions of the shoe were made available to the public. But some of the most notable ones are the hybrid iterations which fused the AM360's sole with some of the most famous Air Max models including the AM 90, 95, and 97.

In 2018, Nike tapped Kim Jones, a British designer, to design his second collaborative sneaker with the brand. Jones was Louis Vuitton's former artistic director until he decided to move on to become Dior Homme's creative director. And for his latest partnership with the Swoosh brand, he reconstructed the Air Max 360 and gave it a high-top cut with a much more streamlined silhouette. Jones' took inspiration from three of his favorite Nike models including the Footscape, Vandal, and the Air Max 97.

Dubbed as the Nike x Kim Jones Air Max 360 Hi, this sneaker utilizes a mixed material upper that features an asymmetrical lacing system, reflective 3M accents, and ankle strap. The pair is available in two colorways: Triple White and Triple Black.
