Nike Tanjun Premium History
Back in the year 2012, the Nike Roshe Run was launched. A ubiquitous Nike creation designed by Dylan Raasch. Used to the iconic Air Force 1’s bulky design, this shoe’s never-before-seen silhouette was initially met with skepticism. This, however, changed when the shoe’s release was welcomed with great enthusiasm by fans worldwide.
The hype for the Nike Roshe Run faded after a few years as its popularity was overshadowed by bad press. Despite this, this minimalist runner, beyond doubt, has already ingrained its mark in the sneaker world.
Fast forward to December 2015, the Nike Roshe seemed to have resurrected in the form of the Nike Tanjun. Flaunting a look that’s almost identical to the once famous Roshe, this model was also launched at a price affordable for average Joes and Janes.
The word “Tanjun” in Japanese means “simplicity”. And, true to its title, “simplicity” is exactly what this shoe embodies. Built with a seamless and breathable mesh upper and a well-cushioned, injected sole unit, both materials boast of being lightweight, this shoe has soon become a crowd favorite.
Despite the lack of expensive marketing campaigns, Nike Tanjun's prominence unexpectedly scaled the walls. As proof of its popularity, as of September 2017, the Tanjun was recognized as the “best-selling shoe in the US”. NPD Group, a market research company that is considered as one of the largest in the world, even reported that it has been selling like crazy for the last three consecutive months.
The Nike Tanjun Premium, an upgraded version of this blockbuster, recently launched. Similar to its predecessor, it is acclaimed for its affordability, eye-catching aesthetics, versatility and enhanced comfort.
Nike Tanjun Premium Style
Clean and simple yet stunning, this shoe is available in a wide array of colorways. Whether neutral-toned or brightly-colored, the Nike Tanjun Premium looks great dressed up or down.
All-day comfort can also be expected from the Tanjun Premium. Built with a breathable, ultralight, no-sew mesh upper, this humble lifestyle sneaker is capable of keeping your feet cool, dry and comfy in the hottest of weather. It can also double up as a trainer, making it a reliable day-to-day footwear for people always on the go.
Fit & Sizing
Expect this shoe, with a runner-inspired silhouette, to hug your feet in comfort 24/7 while providing reliable support. Its streamlined upper, however, only offers minimal toe room. The Nike Tanjun Premium is available in Medium width for all genders. Men’s sizes range from 6-15 while women’s sizes range from 5-12. It commonly fits true to size.
This round-toed sneaker, with its Roshe Run-like silhouette is truly attractive. Aside from this, the Nike Tanjun Premium is also known for its flexible and durable, thick synthetic sole unit with a Waffle outsole pattern that provides better cushioning and improved shock absorption as well as dependable grip and traction.
- Textile insole as well as lightly padded tongue and collar improves the shoe’s in-shoe feel. It also gives the shoe a lockdown fit.
- Secure fit is achieved with the addition of the traditional lace-up closure.
- Famous “Swoosh” logo can be found on the Nike Tanjun Premium’s lateral and medial side.
- The wave in the midsection of the sole completes the look of the shoe.
