Nike Tanjun ENG History
Picking up from the success of Dylan Raasch’s Roshe Run, Nike released the Tanjun, a sneaker quite similar to the Roshe Run’s silhouette. First introduced in December 2015, the Tanjun has a simple design of a mesh upper and a bold signature Swoosh on the side panel. Its name couldn’t be more fitting, given that in Japanese, Tanjun translates to simplicity.
This characteristic contributed to the success of the sneaker. In fact, despite all the higher-end lines of Nike like the Air Jordans and the Air Force 1’s, it is surprising that the Tanjun’s hold the highest place regarding popularity last September 2017. From then on, these sneakers are released in different variations, the Nike Tanjun ENG being one.
Nike Tanjun ENG Style
Meant for long walks and everyday activities, the Nike Tanjun ENG carries the same mesh material similar to the original Tanjun. However, for this version, it has a girlier design with its floral print pattern on the upper. These sneakers remain to sport a simple and minimalist design, which apparent in the Tanjun range.
Coming in four colorways- black, white, blue, and pink, these sneakers can easily match any outfit. Because of the floral-print upper that stands out on its own, it is ideal to pair these sneakers with a basic outfit like a simple shirt and shorts to match that summery feel of the shoe.
Fit & Sizing
The Nike Tanjun ENG is a women’s sneaker that is offered in US sizes 5-12. Although these shoes come in a medium width, those with wide feet can appreciate these as well. The material used on the upper and the silhouette of the Tanjuns, gives a roomy toe box.
What stays prevalent on the Tanjun ENG and the Nike Tanjuns is its simplistic design and style. Much like the range of the sneakers, the low-profile approach contributed to its success. One of the most notable updates injected on these shoes is the floral-printed mesh upper that is reminiscent of a lace design. This no-sew fabric material makes these sneakers breathable and comfortable, making it an ideal pair to use during summer.
- The Nike Tanjun ENG has a fabric insole lining which provides an excellent in-sole feel.
- The outsole contains a Waffle-design with flex grooves, which gives additional traction.
- The lightly padded tongue and collar provide more comfort and protection.
