Nike Son Of Force Mid Winter History
Nike not only built its name around the 80s basketball ethos but also diversified in other extracurricular activities like running and hiking. During this time, several iterations of outdoor gear emerged at the dawn of the decade releasing models like the Mowabb and the Lava Domes.
A fresh sneaker with a design ahead of its time was simultaneously released in this era and was observed to sweep the market share with its basketball silhouette. The Nike Air Force 1 was seen on the feet of superstar Moses Malone that boosted the shoe's fame into sneaker collection history. The shoe sports an iconic design that was the sole inspiration for succeeding Nike models.
In 2013, Nike innovated its sneakerboot design by combining an all-weather shoe with the pioneering design of the Air Force 1. Thus, the Nike Son Of Force Mid was created. The name was inspired from the late 80s to early 90s sequels of the Force vs. Flight franchise bringing back the vintage coining system of nomenclature of using "Son Of."
Improvising its function as a cold weather apparel, Nike subsequently released a "winter" edition. Demonstrating a mid-top image with an exaggerated rubber outsole, the Son Of Force Mid Winter was designated to tackle wet environments while exhibiting a stylish glow. Indeed a legacy of its predecessor, the shoe's durability, and comfort makes its Air Force father proud.

Although the shoe is often fashioned with thick winter clothes, it can also be sported during the summer due to its lightweight composition. Dark colored clothing is advisable, but it wouldn't hurt to partner the sneakerboot with light colored pants and shorts. Basketball shorts and gym clothes would also look good, but beyond that, it can also be utilized for work.
Fit & Sizing
A padded collar and tongue secure the wearer's foot in place. A D-looped eyelet is also placed at the top for a snug fit at the ankle. With all these parts combined, the shoe caters a true to size fit which can be bought on a size range from 7-14. It is available in D medium width.
Aside from its waterproof synthetic upper, the Nike Son Of Force Mid Winter has a mesh fabric lining for comfort. The sneakerboot also features a reflective Nike Swoosh logo on both panels for visibility under low light conditions. Its distinguishable mid top diagonally extends upward to provide ample ankle support. Most of the comfort is provided by the removable Lunarlon insole which is not only lighter but also distributes force all throughout the surface of the foot for a smoother stride. Lastly, the word Force is imprinted on the tongue in large lettering.
- Like most boots, the Nike Son Of Force Mid Winter displays a deeply trenched rubber outsole for traction and durability from the different terrain.
