Nike Mercurial Superfly 8 Elite FG: A break from tradition

The Nike Superfly legacy lives on as the eighth release from the line makes one bold move. The Nike Mercurial Superfly 8 Elite FG changes its upper material from Flyknit to synthetic Vaporposite. This new upper material and the soccer cleat's time-tested features deliver the following:

Dynamic support. The collar is made of form-fitting Flyknit, which hugs the ankle for better support. This and the sock-like fit of the Vaporposite upper synergistically give the player the secure lockdown needed for more aggression on the pitch.

Speed and mobility. The Superfly 8 Elite is extra light with a streamlined construction; it does not hamper with movement.

Controlled ball touch. Overlaid with engineered mesh, the forefoot has enough texture to keep the ball under control for more forceful kicks.

The Nike Mercurials: Superfly 8 and Vapor 14

The Nike Mercurial Superfly 8 is a splitting image of its Mercurial sibling: the Vapor 14. Both soccer cleats have the same design and shoe materials, the only difference is the Flyknit collar that's on the Superfly 8. This extra feature is perhaps what connects the 8 from the last 4 Superfly releases, which prominently featured Flyknit in the upper. In essense, the Superfly 8 are for players who are shiftier, and therefore in need of more support around the ankles.
