Overall, my verdict for the LeBron 17s... I am very very happy with it. Very very impressed. I really love the traction, and especially the cushion setup of the LeBron 17.

The traction's incredible. The cushion is actually pretty nice. Ah you knoe, materials I like. I just wish it was just a little bit, like, were not as hot. And the, maybe court feel could be a little better, but like, impact protection is insane. You know, so like, I can't really complain.

If you guys have the money to blow, go for it. This is an awesome performer. But, if you guys are balling on a budget, and you guys don't want to specifically target impact protection, then you guys can definitley go with something cheaper and also still have a great performer.

It feels premium in every way possible. It has an all-around performance, minus court feel. And no doubt about, the best in the game cushion set-up which is something out of this world.

Overall, I really enjoyed the Nike LeBron 17 from the cushion up. Traction has kept me from wanting to play in them any longer than I feel I have to. I hope that isn’t the case for everyone, and I hope there are people out there that get great traction from the shoe if they happen to purchase them. All I know is that I played in two different pairs in two different colorways and had the same results in both. I liked everything, loved some things, but disliked the traction.

Harness the King’s strength and speed every time you lace up the LeBron 17 from Nike. These LeBron basketball shoes let you dominate both ends of the court with its updated Max Air unit and brand new Knitposite upper.

The Nike LeBron 17 provides full-control with its Knitposie upper. The heat-molded yarns offer containment and support for all-court domination. At the forefoot, a maximum-volume Zoom Air unit offers continuous responsiveness. These high-top basketball shoes also boast the largest heel Max unit to date for ultimate shock absorption.

Cushion. The Nike LeBron 17 features the highest-volume heel Max Air unit ever implemented in a LeBron basketball shoe.

"If you look at the evolution of LeBron's line, you'll see how he loves Max Air, and we felt like the volume of Air in the 17 was the next solution in providing the stabilization and support he needs," Nike designer Jason Petrie says.

These basketball shoes also feature two independent Zoom Air pods at the forefoot.

"The lateral and medial pods under the forefoot give him that response and comfort in conjunction with the Max Air bag," Petrie says. "The way LeBron sees it, he wants to feel confident from the ground up. He doesn't need help jumping. He wants to feel secure on the way down."

The combination of Max and Zoom Air provides LeBron with the ultimate hybrid cushioning. The Max Air provides shock absorption for his explosive play while the Air Zoom units respond to his speed from point to point.

Traction. These high-top basketball shoes feature a durable rubber outsole with a modified traction pattern that provides increased flexibility and grip on the hardwood.

Closure. The LeBron 17 features a wide collar and traditional tongue that provides a locked-in feel. The shoe’s lace-up closure offers a customizable fit.

The Nike LeBron 17 introduces Nike’s latest knit innovation—Knitposite. Knitposite combines lightweight Flyknit threads with heat-molded yarns for added structure and support.

“We wanted to blend the knit on the 15 and the strength of the Battleknit on the 16. The result is amazing. Once the heat is applied to the knitting process, you get this jewel-like armored exoskeleton that’s stuffed with these yarns,” Petrie explains. “It’s both structural and soft in the areas it needs to be.”

LeBron James’s latest signature sneaker was built from the ground up. These basketball shoes feature a number of changes that increase their potency and comfort on and off the hardwood.

“We had ‘the blueprint’ in mind for the 17, and we started from the ground up on everything, whether that was the construction of the knit or the way we could protect him underfoot with Air bags," Petrie explains. "The silhouette was a way to reset the mark for LeBron, and futuristically explore how we could help his game with the best that Nike offers.”

Signature details including “I’m King,” “LJ,” and the number “23” are all seen on the tongue.

"LeBron wanted a more overt tongue for the shoe, which opens up the opportunity for personal storytelling," Petrie says. "There are other micro details, too. Making the topline jagged was our way of stepping into the crown of the king. Also, there's a woven label on the medial side that has the inspiration for the colorway. It's almost like a key to the shoe."

LeBron James’s latest signature sneaker arrives in the following color combinations:

  • Black/Black ‘Currency’
