Kyrie Irving's signature line has gradually become one of the most reliable basketball shoes for shifty guards. "The biggest accomplishment that we've had in my shoe line is just evolving with the technology at Nike, and it really being specifically made for me," Irving explains.

Designed for Irving's creative and unpredictable style on the court, the Nike Kyrie 6 focuses on control and comfort. According to Nike designer Benjamin Nethongkome, "I know what Kyrie wants from an overall feel. There is a certain formula: An extra-padded tongue, almost SB style, and a cushy collar, combined with support in the midfoot."

The sixth Nike Kyrie boasts a Nike Air Zoom Turbo unit that offers incredible responsiveness. An adjustable strap, padded collar, and heel counter keep the ankle locked-in and aligned with the rest of the foot. These mid-top basketball shoes also feature an all-angle traction pattern that provides excellent court grip in all directions.

"The Zoom Airbag, 360 traction, and the strap — the technology defines the functionality of the shoe," Irving says. "But it's evolved into a beautiful design that incorporates different inspirations from past Nike shoes."

Cushion. The Nike Kyrie 6 features a plush foam midsole with an articulated Nike Air Zoom Turbo unit at the forefoot. The lightweight midsole provides optimum cushioning and a smooth underfoot feel. The articulated Air Zoom Turbo unit is designed to deliver responsiveness in all directions.

Traction. These Kyrie basketball shoes boast an all-angle traction pattern that keeps Irving more connected to the court. The multi-angle blade pattern is engineered to grip the floor in all directions.

Like previous Kyrie models, the Kyrie 6 also features a curved outsole for added grip when cutting and attacking the basket. The grippy material extends up the forefoot and sidewalls to provide more traction during extreme banking.

Closure. These mid-top basketball shoes are equipped with a padded collar and heel counter that lock in the ankle and keep it aligned with the rest of the foot. An adjustable midfoot strap crosses over the laces to keep the foot locked-in the footbed.

The sixth iteration of the Nike Kyrie boasts refined materials such as ballistic mesh and premium leather. At the forefoot, the ballistic mesh material offers lightweight support and increased breathability. The shoes are also equipped with a reinforced toe to help resist abrasion.

These Nike basketball shoes offer owners with a lot of off-court versatility with its refined materials and stylish midfoot strap. The sixth iteration of the Nike Kyrie can be worn all day thanks to a beautiful mix of tumbled leather and engineered mesh. At the forefoot sole, a dash of neon adds some highlight.

Signature details include the healer’s hand, all-seeing eye, the number 11, and his mantra “hungry and humble.” A large Swoosh adds some detail to the ankle panel.

The Kyrie 6’s stylish silhouette also shares some similarities to the Air Yeezy 2. This comes as no surprise since Irving is a huge fan of Yeezys and frequently rocks them off the court.

Currently, only a handful of colorways of the Nike Kyrie 6 are available. Like the Nike Kyrie 5, future releases will serve as a canvas that will provide some insight into Irving’s emotional and intellectual energies.

  • Black/Cement Grey/University Red-White ‘Bred’
  • Black/White
  • Grand Purple/Multi-Color ‘Enlightenment’
  • Midnight Navy/Black-Marine-Noir ‘Pre-Heat’ aka ‘Heal the World’
  • Pink Tint/Guava Ice ‘Khepri’
  • Vast Grey

Concepts X Nike Kyrie 6 ‘Khepri’

Khepri was the Egyptian god of creation, life, resurrection, and the movement of the sun. Khepri also means to transform, a theme that resonates with Irving. These basketball shoes feature pink and blue hues that match the color of the sand when hit by the morning sun.

Nike Kyrie 6 ‘Bruce Lee’

The Nike Kyrie 6 ‘Bruce Lee’ features the classic mix of red, black, and yellow. The highlight of these basketball sneakers is the signature scratch marks on the Swoosh logo.

Nike Kyrie 6 Chinese New Year

Nike basketball is scheduled to release an exclusive collection to commemorate the 2020 Chinese New Year. The Nike Kyrie 6 Chinese New Year features a unique graphic found on the midfoot strap. The leather heel will also feature a golden Swoosh with embroidery.

Other details include yellow laces, green inner lining, and a blue Hasma pattern etched into the heel counter. A pink forefoot Zoom Turbo unit, purple outsole, orange traction pods, and “CNY 2020” branding on the tongue finish off the festive theme.

Nike Kyrie 6 Pre-Heat Collection

The number 11 holds a special place in Kyrie Irving’s heart. 11 was his dad’s (Drederick Irving) number when he played professionally. Irving then wore the number during his high school days and now in Brooklyn.

The number 11 is also a metaphor for balance and harmony (1+1). The letter K is the 11th letter in the alphabet, and Irving’s name (Kyrie Irving) consists of 11 letters.

Irving’s connection to the number 11 further extends to his playing days in Duke, in which he played 11 games. He was then drafted round 1, pick 1 during the 2011 NBA Draft.

Because of this, Nike and Irving will release 11 shoes inspired by 11 cities around the globe. The collection includes nods to the cities of Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Taipei, Tokyo, Berlin, and Manila.
