Nike Juvenate SM History
Released in 2015, Nike released a line called Nike Zenji. The word “zenji” was taken from the Japanese word, zen master. This shoe, because of its lightweight and simplistic design, is geared towards obtaining a Zen-like state. These sneakers are supposed to stimulate a relaxing feeling, reminiscent of a Nike Roshe. Its supposed to be a travel-friendly shoe as it has a dust bag that comes with the box. After the shoe’s release, the market reacted negatively as the term “zenji” also happens to be a derogatory term pronounced in Arabic.
Although unintentional, it was too late for Nike to realize that more than the design, price, and comfort, the market is also keen the shoe’s name. Recalling all of the units, Nike released a re-release carrying a different name, Nike Juvenate.
