Updates to Nike Flex Show TR 5

  • Designed as an all-around training shoe, the Nike Flex Show TR 5 utilizes components that deliver support and stability. It builds upon the success of its predecessor and sports similar features and technologies.
  • The upper is made from a breathable mesh fabric that keeps the inside of the shoe fresh. The soft material is reinforced with synthetic overlays that protect it from abrasion. They also deliver lateral support to the midfoot.
  • It features a thin midsole that aims to absorb impact and promote flexibility. The outsole utilizes the Flex grooves to accommodate natural bending of the foot. The high-wear areas are lined with rubber pods to enhance traction as well as prevent outsole from quickly deteriorating.

Nike Flex Show TR 5 size and fit

The Nike Flex Show TR 5 is only available in men’s sizes. It runs true to size and comes in D - Medium width. Though the upper is made of stretchable mesh, the cage-like synthetic overlays in the midfoot prevent it from overexpanding. This combination aims to provide a snug fit.

A foam rubber makes up the full-length outsole of the Nike Flex Show TR 5. This material is durable and provides traction on most surfaces. It employs the Nike Flex technology, which is comprised of deep grooves that promote natural foot movements. This platform can also be found on the men's Nike Flex Control, another popular workout shoe from the brand.

The rubber pods are strategically placed throughout the outsole unit. They enhance traction on the underside to prevent slippage. A multi-directional tread pattern also amplifies the grip of the outsole.

The Nike Flex Show TR 5 uses a thin foam midsole. This material is hard-wearing and does not easily compress so it can reduce the impact felt by the foot with each step. It follows a low-profile design to deliver a steady platform during weight training.

The upper of the Nike Flex Show TR 5 is made of mesh material. This fabric allows air to flow into the foot chamber and keep it ventilated. Laser-cut perforations enhance the breathability of the upper.

The synthetic overlays form a cage-like structure in the midfoot area. It serves as additional lateral support to the shoe that assists the foot during dynamic routines. The no-sew construction of the overlays gives the footwear its clean look, without adding the unnecessary weight to the unit. This component also protects the toe box from impact and abrasion.

The leather overlay acts as an external heel counter. It keeps the back of the foot anchored to the midsole and prevents unwanted movements.

The shoe utilizes a traditional lace-up closure to keep the foot securely in place. The round laces allow users to adjust the fit while the tongue ensures that it does not irritate the instep.

Inside the trainer is a mesh bootie liner that aims to deliver a sock-like fit. This fabric aids in keeping the interior fresh as well as reducing the friction to prevent blisters.
