The Nike Wildhorse 6 features an all-new trail-ready design that offers a balance of comfort and performance. It is the latest addition to a series of well-known trail running shoes designed to provide support in a variety of terrains.
This Nike trail running shoe has been updated from top to bottom to provide a more secure, efficient, and comfortable running experience. The improved outsole delivers a firm grip while the segmented protection plate in the forefoot gives extra protection.
A new midsole design that utilizes React technology is used to ensure a soft and cushioned underfoot feel. For breathability and support, an enhanced mesh top with protective overlays is utilized. A soft woven heel collar is also included to create a softer feel inside the shoe.
The Nike Air Zoom Wildhorse 6 uses the standard sizing measurement for both men and women’s versions. This neutral running shoe features the lacing system to provide a secure and adjustable fit. Other elements that influence the fit of the shoe are the soft heel collar and tongue, which are intended to give added support and comfort.
Abrasion-resistant rubber with a more aggressive lug pattern is integrated into the outsole of the Nike Wildhorse 6 for exceptional durability. This material is positioned in the forefoot and heel sections for increased grip on trails. A sticky rubber outsole is also placed in the midfoot area for enhanced traction over mixed terrain.
A segmented protection plate is positioned in the forefoot for additional protection. This element shields the foot from roots and rocks without compromising flexibility.
The designers incorporated the anti-clog application into the outsole to keep the dirt out. This feature helps prevent mud and dirt from getting stuck under the outsole. It helps maintain a light sensation even when running on wet or muddy surfaces.
Nike React technology is utilized for a smooth and responsive ride. This cushioning technology is made from a lightweight midsole foam, which is softer and offers more energy return compared to other midsole materials.
Complementing the React midsole is the extra cushioning at the heel. This component is added for stability, keeping the foot on the platform while running on uneven surfaces.
The upper of the Nike Air Zoom Wildhorse 6 utilizes a combination of synthetic leather, textile, and mesh materials. The mesh fabric is featured in the forefoot for enhanced ventilation to keep the foot dry for an extended period. A soft fabric lining is also added to provide a soft in-shoe feel.
Synthetic material is used in the toe area to help prevent abrasion for long-lasting wear. Protective overlays are also infused in the upper for added support and durability.
A tighten woven material is utilized as a heel collar. This soft material delivers added comfort while keeping the foot in place when walking or running. This component also serves as a gaiter that helps prevent the dirt and debris from entering the shoe. A utility tab is also placed at the back of the heel for easy on and off.
The lateral fit-band lacing system is featured on the shoe for a customized and supportive fit. The shoelaces help keep the foot in place, while the thin tongue features segmented padding that helps minimize pressure.
Similar to the Nike Air Zoom Wildhorse 6, the Nike Air Zoom Terra Kiger 6 is also the newest addition to one of Nike’s biggest trail running shoe series.
The Air Zoom Terra Kiger 6 features an updated mesh top and adjusted forefoot shape for added durability and improved fit. Just like the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36, the Air Zoom Terra Kiger 6 has a sleek construction, yet highly durable.
Other similarities between the Air Zoom Wildhorse 6 and Air Zoom Terra Kiger 6 are the presence of the segmented protection plate, the React midsole and the midfoot lacing system. Moreover, both of these Nike running shoes are equipped with trail-specific outsoles that provide stability on various terrains. However, the Air Zoom Terra Kiger 6 only features deep lugs in its heel and forefoot. A sticky rubber pod, instead of aggressive lugs, is positioned in its midfoot. This is the reason why most of the reviewers who have tried both of these shoes favored Nike Air Zoom Wildhorse 6 in terms of gripping performance.
