Back in the early 90s, Jason Kidd was drafted as the second overall pick of the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Draft. He was declared as the Rookie of the Year in the 1994-1995 season with an average score of 11.5 points in a game. After that, the Swoosh granted him his first signature basketball shoe.
The Air Zoom Flight 95 was released in 1995 as a premier guard shoe. It showcased a design that aids the speed of Jason Kidd on the hard court. Designer Eric Avar explained that power and speed were in their minds when they created this design. They wanted to create a design where the foot can drop seamlessly and provides important support for lateral maneuvers and forces from various directions.
