- The Nike Air VaporMax Flyknit Moc 2 is an update to a fresh series of running shoes that have street-ready aesthetics. The design is simple as it has a slip-on configuration that doesn’t have any shoelaces. A knitted fabric with a garter-collar offers a sock-like fit that’s free of irritation. Foot security is ensured by an elastic strap on the midfoot and a set of printed overlays at the back.
- Cushioning is the responsibility of the midsole unit, yet this road running shoe doesn’t have a traditional foam platform. Instead, it uses the Max Air design, which is comprised of a full-length plastic vessel that divided into two—the forefoot and the heel. It is filled with compressed air. It’s touted to be bouncy like a balloon.
- The underside of this running shoe’s platform features deep flex grooves that are designed to follow the natural movement capacity of the foot. Rubber layers are present in areas that are more prone to wear-and-tear.
The Nike Air VaporMax Flyknit Moc 2 has a standard running shoe length. It adheres to the usual preferences of consumers when it comes to size. The available width is D – Medium. This model has a unisex construction, and it’s made using measurements that are common for male consumers.
The outsole unit of the Nike Air VaporMax Flyknit Moc 2 makes use of a rubber compound that’s meant to act as a shield against wear and tear. It is placed on vital areas, ensuring the safety of the midsole. Moreover, it grants surface control.
Deep flex grooves make sure to encourage the natural flexibility of the foot. These trenches also separate the compressed-air capsules from one another, thereby preventing them from rubbing each other and causing any material damage.
Underfoot cushioning is given by the Max Air, which is made of a full-length plastic filled with compressed air. It is separated into two distinct parts: the front and the back. The latter is responsible for carrying the weight of the body while also receiving impact shock during the landing phase; the former is for delivering an energized toe-off from the ground.
The upper unit of the Nike Air VaporMax Flyknit Moc 2 features the Flyknit, a seamless material that offers a soft and flexible wrap. Its job is to provide a form-fitting coverage that’s flexible yet secure.
A traditional lacing system isn’t present in this model. Instead, a garter-collar is employed here. Such a design evokes the feeling of merely wearing a sock.
A slim elastic strap is placed on the instep. It aims to maintain a stretchy yet secure bind. The left shoe has “AIR” emblazoned on it, while the other one has “MAX.”
While an entirely separate tongue unit isn’t in this model, a semblance of a tongue-edge still covers the instep and the curve of the lower leg.
A pull tab is stitched to the back of the shoe. This fabric loop is meant to help the runner when it comes to wearing and removing the Nike Air VaporMax Flyknit Moc 2.
A strip of reflective material is added to the heel part. The goal of this add-on is to make the runner more visible when running in low light. Nighttime running sessions benefit the most from this safety feature.
