Notable Features

To deliver just the right amount of support to the wearer, the Nike Torch 4 is equipped with the Phylon foam. It is a well-recognized performance foam from Nike that boasts ultimate lightness without compromising comfort and spring.

Apparent through its name, the Nike Air Torch 4 is engineered with the Max Air technology in the heel. The Air pods secure a light, bouncy sensation to the heel, optimizing energy return.

Meanwhile,  a combination of a well-ventilated mesh and synthetic textile comprises the upper of the running platform. Besides keeping the bulk at an absolute minimum, such configuration encourages a healthy foot environment.

Running full-length on the outsole of the Nike Torch is the brand's proprietary BRS 1000® rubber. It supplies superb ground adherence and durability, slowing down the process of wear and tear.

Outsole

As mentioned, the outsole of the Nike Torch 4 is furnished with Nike's BRS 1000 rubber. The same rubber compound is implemented on the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus and Nike Air Zoom Vomeros. The BRS 1000® runs full-length on the Nike Torch's outsole, providing unmatched surface traction Because of this component, the shoe is able to perform on various terrains, eliminating worries on slipping. Moreover, the rubber highly values durability, promoting repetitive use without sacrificing quality and performance.

Midsole

The midsole of the Nike Air Torch 4 is comprised of two technical elements. These are the Phylon foam which is integrated into the forefoot, and the Max Air cushioning incorporated in the heel section.

A dependable midsole technology from Nike, the Phylon foam is known for being lighter than standard EVA foams in the market. With its composition, the foam pronounces the trail running shoe's cushioning and responsiveness. No matter the motion of the athlete, the Phylon foam stabilizes the foot, providing optimal support and balance.

Present and visible in the heel area of the Nike Torch is the Max Air unit of the shoe. It features Air compartments that cushion the underfoot without adding bulk to the platform. The Air units permit a bouncy sensation to the foot, amplifying the springiness of the shoe. Because of the amount of air present within the pods, impact mitigation is also promoted.

Upper

For the Nike Air Max Torch 4's upper, synthetic and mesh materials are introduced. These are known for exhibiting minimal weight, preventing drag. This, in turn, promotes the forward motion of the wearer for a propulsive running performance. More importantly, these upper textiles are form-fitting, enhancing lockdown and security. Because there are strategically placed perforations on the upper, airflow within the foot chamber is increased. This, in turn, creates a cool and fresh running experience by wicking away sweat and moisture.

To better the structural integrity of the running platform, overlays are bonded to the upper. These also help hold the foot in place, disabling unwanted shoe removal.

For the neutral running shoe's closure system, a traditional lace-up wrap is implemented. With such lockdown, users are equipped with a customizable, dialed-in fit. This allows for better comfort.

Speaking of comfort, the shoe exhibits a padded collar and tongue, pronouncing both plushness and security.
