With its composition, the foam pronounces the trail running shoe's cushioning and responsiveness. Present and visible in the heel area of the Nike Torch is the Max Air unit of the shoe. It features Air compartments that cushion the underfoot without adding bulk to the platform. The Air units permit a bouncy sensation to the foot, amplifying the springiness of the shoe. Because of the amount of air present within the pods, impact mitigation is also promoted.
For the Nike Air Max Torch 4's upper, synthetic and mesh materials are introduced. These are known for exhibiting minimal weight, preventing drag. This, in turn, promotes the forward motion of the wearer for a propulsive running performance. More importantly, these upper textiles are form-fitting, enhancing lockdown and security. Because there are strategically placed perforations on the upper, airflow within the foot chamber is increased.
