Facts

Grabbing a pair of these Nike Air Max Deluxe SE casual shoes is not much of a problem depending on the size of one’s feet. The 90’s follow-up model is available in unisex sizing, which starts from a men’s standard of 4 all the way up to 14. This generous range plus the androgynous style makes all genders wanna cop a pair.

Though there were a few that disliked its comfort, stating that there are more comfortable Nike models than this, the sneaker makes up for it with its full-length Air-Sole cushioning borrowed from the Air Max 97.

Rummaging through the net, one might find that there are several Nike Air Max Deluxe SE exclusive to women and these are dipped in lighter colorways of white or others. For women who fancy the cargo khaki versions, it is best to follow the rule of going down one and a half sizes from the men’s.

With the proliferation of coveted and most sought out designs in the Nike catalog, the Oregon brand most likely had capitalized with them in their recent SE version of the Air Max Deluxe.

The Nike Air Max Deluxe SE bred version features an almost triple black upbringing with a dash of anthracite on the tongue, lace bed and the tubular pillars within the full-length Air bubble. The red tints were officially dubbed “Bright Crimson” to stow away from the usual Jordan-originated term.

Another girly-girly rendition of the said model was the Nike Air Max Deluxe SE “Arctic Orange.” Though the sneaker highlights orange in its moniker, the sneaker exhibits a peachy vibe which is supposedly a women’s exclusive, but men are free to sport these as well.

Air Max shoes, in general, should most likely be partnered with sporty clothes like joggers and leggings but going for a more “formal” look would be deemed worthy as well. Skinny jeans are a staple with these, and shorts would always emphasize a ready-for-anything appeal.

The most standout feature of the Nike Air Max Deluxe SE would probably be the iridescent heel tab which mirrors the sound waves found all over the sneaker’s upper. The multi-window Max Air unit can be seen from afar which is supported by a TPU panel on the midfoot portion.

Instead of continuous lines, the Arctic Orange edition displays broken stitches along the waves on the uppers similar to the 1999 releases of its predecessor.

The inspiration for the creation of the Air Max Deluxe was obviously the Nike Air Max 97 which was designed by Christian Tresser. The technology from the AM 97 was lent to the overall design of the Deluxe with a massive change-up on its upper’s style. Considered one of the compelling yet ambitious makeovers of the 90s decade, the Deluxe utilized neoprene uppers complete with dotted lines and colorful pigment combinations to accentuate its appeal.

After decades of silence, the sneaker was brought back from the dead via a collaboration with Skepta in 2018. This move catalyzed numerous iterations, thus leading to the introduction of the Nike Air Max Deluxe SE in 2019.

  • The accents found on the Nike Air Max Deluxe SE closely resemble the Air Max 99.
  • Popular colorways include Cargo Khaki, Sail, Arctic Orange, and Triple Black or bred.
  • Miniaturized Swooshes are found all over the sneaker, including one in the mid-portion of the outsole.
