Nike Air Max 97 LX Swarovski History

In 1997, given by its name, Nike released the Air Max 97. Originally, it was supposed to be called as the Nike Air Max total 3, though the reason behind the change of name wasn’t revealed.

Christian Tresser, the designer of the Air Max 97, has stated in one of his occasional interviews, that he usually takes inspiration from nature when designing. For the Air Max 97, Tresser discussed that a lot of ideas just came flooding through his mind after he saw a drop of water in a pond, creating a crippling effect. It gave inspiration to the upper design of the Air Max 97.

During the silhouette’s 20th anniversary, the Nike brand hugely celebrated with the Nike Air Max 97 LX Swarovski. The shoe features a shining luxe effect with the addition of the Swarovski crystals throughout the upper, enhancing the Air Max 97’s wavy design. Complementing the fresh look of the shoe is the visible Max Air and its red and black accents.
