Facts

  • The fourth iteration of the Newton Fate brings an elevated athletic experience to a wide range of users – from those who are fans of daily running to those who have just entered the world of running. This version features an updated Newtonium cushioning that offers a whole new level of responsiveness and comfort.
  • The Newton Fate 4 uses an open-weave mesh upper and no-sew overlays for a breathable coverage that allows optimal foot support. It also has stretch panels that enable a comfortable in-shoe feel, as it accommodates the foot with the perfect contour.
  • A tandem of Newtonium foam and durable rubber outsole makes up the sole unit of the Newton Fate 4. They utilize the brand’s Action/Reaction™ Technology that gives an enhanced level of responsiveness, cushioning, and durability.

The Fate 4 from Newton is a daily-running shoe that is built following the standard running shoe length.  The forefoot area is generously spaced to permit a comfortable toe-off for runners, regardless of their foot volume. The Newton Fate 4 is available in men’s width profile of D – Medium and women’s width profile of B – Medium.

Like its predecessor, the Newton Fate 4’s outsole is mainly composed of the brand’s proprietary super high-abrasion rubber compound (s.h.a.r.c). This outsole material is placed on the shoe’s high-wear areas for protection against damages, and, more importantly, it also delivers traction efficiently.

The outsole’s lug system is the P.O.P (Point of Power) 2, one of three designations used by Newton to provide several types of rides. The P.O.P 2 comes in the form of beveled lugs that allow for a smooth ride, as it works hand in hand with the midsole’s Action/Reaction™ technology.

The heel and forefoot areas are made even more capable thanks to the Action/Reaction™ technology. This feature works as a mechanism that is activated by the lugs. As active movement is happening, the lugs create a reaction that is similar to a trampoline, as it gives a quick bounce-back, making for smoother and more energized gait cycle. For a different experience of this technology, runners may also try the Newton Gravity 8.

The Newton Fate 4 features a double-layer midsole that delivers a balanced ride with a dynamic, snappy transition.

Directly underfoot is the Newtonium foam, a full-length cushion that enables a responsive stride and effective shock absorption during the foot strike. Meanwhile, beneath the Newtonium foam is a level of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam, which supplies the midsole with a durable quality while also making it plush, therefore providing comfort and springiness.

In the forefoot is a biomechanical metatarsal sensor plate, a unit that enhances ground feel and offers sensory feedback. As a result, the foot moves naturally, and it achieves surface control.

The Newton Fate 4 has a low drop to promote a level platform, encouraging a natural running position and improving overall stride.

The shoe also has an ETC sock liner, which has antimicrobial properties that help keep moisture and odor at bay, thus promoting a healthy foot environment.

The open-weave mesh upper of the Newton Fate 4 is a quick-drying material, thanks to its pores that permit optimum airflow. The open pores of the mesh prevent the foot from heating up and sweating.

Instead of stitching, the overlays of the upper are fused into the mesh, giving the wearer a more customized fit without being too restrictive or uncomfortable. They also help in locking the foot down in its place.

A set of stretchable panels is installed in the forefoot of the upper. These work as metatarsal protective units, stretching accordingly to cover the forefoot and avoid skin irritation.

The shoe uses Strobel lasting, with the upper attached to a full-length fabric for a comfortable underfoot feel.
