  • The Newton Distance S is now back! It is considered as the lightest and fastest running shoe from Newton. The Newton Distance S 8 features impressive improvement, from top to bottom, to give runners satisfying performance on the road.
  • The upper features a new air-mesh material that is breathable and light. It wraps the foot comfortably and the seamless construction reduces the risk of blister and irritation.
  • The shoe also uses the Newtonium cushioning that extends from the forefoot to the heel section. This midsole foam aims to deliver responsiveness and comfortable underfoot protection.
  • The outsole of the Distance S 8 has been modified as well for enhanced durability and grip. The Full Flex Zone with Ice lugs is utilized to encourage a more efficient gait cycle.

When it comes to sizing, the Distance S 8 runs true to size. It can accommodate medium foot measurements from the heel to the forefoot and the toe-box is roomy enough for toe splay.  The shoe is also available in both men’s and women’s versions in standard medium width option.

What makes the outsole of the shoe durable are the SHARC compound and the high-density rubber materials. These outsole materials provide durability and a reasonable amount of grip on varied paved surfaces.

The Full Flex Zone with Ice lugs is designed to accommodate foot splay. It delivers flexibility without sacrificing traction and cushioning.

In the midsole of the Newton Distance S 8 is the Newtonium foam. This midsole cushioning delivers a layer of underfoot protection designed for responsiveness and comfort.

Considered as unique technologies from Newton, the Action/Reaction and P.O.P. 1 Platform has also been used in this stability shoe. Particularly placed in the heel and forefoot sections, this technology aims to absorb shock during impact and release energy during toe-off. These midsole technologies are also used in Gravity 8, Distance 8, and all other shoes from Newton Running.

Added into the midsole is the high-rebound EVA foam which offers reliable and comfortable underfoot cushioning. It also gives added responsiveness when running.

For increased support and stability, the shoe makes use of the 2nd Density Medial Support and the Biomechanical metatarsal sensor plate. The Medial Posting, which comes in a firmer foam, aims to reduce overpronation while the metatarsal sensor plate enhances the proprioception for a more lively and bouncy ride.

For additional underfoot cushioning, the shoe uses an ETC sockliner. It has an anti-bacterial property for a healthier foot environment.

The upper of the Newton Distance S 8 aims to deliver a more breathable and lighter feel to the users. It makes use of an ultra-breathable air-mesh material to keep the foot well-ventilated throughout the run. It comes with a few minimalistic overlays for added support and durability.

It also has a pre-molded heel counter that delivers a snug fit in the heel area and a no-sew toe cap for added protection. The upper unit also aims to provide a smoother and blister-free environment to the users.
