    Here we have a lightweight and breathable mesh upper with synthetic overlays. We do have a fabulous lace-up closure for a secure yet adjustable fit, as well as anatomical metatarsal stretch panels.

  • The upper unit of the Newton Distance S IV features fabrics that have a more open construction. This is a design that encourages air to enter the shoe much easily, providing a well-ventilated coverage for the runner.

The semi-curved shape of this model allows the natural shape of the human foot to adapt well when wearing it.


The SHARC outsole component utilizes a highly resistant compound that works well against abrasion. It’s made from high-quality rubber and proprietary compounds, so it’s reliable when it comes to giving exceptional protection against wear and tear.

Carbon Rubber is placed in the heel area. It’s meant to deliver durable protection even when using the shoe for long-distance races and other long-term activities. It doesn’t wear off or break down easily, so it can protect the sole unit well for a long time.

The high-density rubber in the forefoot area gives traction and a bit of cushioning to the runner while retaining a durable form. Flex grooves in the forefoot encourage natural movement, especially when it comes to the motions of the forefoot area.


The Action/Reaction Technology in the heel and forefoot sections of the sole unit was created to sponge in impact energy when landing the foot on the ground and then give that energy to the runner during toe off. It’s an effective mechanism to make each step more enabled and empowered. This shoe technology is also utilized in the Newton Gravity 8, which is also a competition shoe.

The P.O.P. 1 Platform is a set of nodes that are connected to chambers that are filled with pressurized air. These nodes make the platform softer and more responsive, especially when going through the gait cycle.

A high-rebound EVA foam delivers full-length cushioning and springiness to the platform. It carries the foot well and responsibly gives it the comfort that it needs when stepping and lifting the foot up.

An Extended Medial Bridge stabilizes the mid-foot section of the foot. It cradles the arch and then helps it to assume a more neutral stance. Doing so gets rid of discomfort or the potential for injury because of an unbalanced gait.


The Open Mesh material is the upper unit’s main fabric. It was constructed to encourage more air to enter the shoe for the optimum comfort of the wearer. The material doesn’t retain water or moisture because it has the capability to dry quickly.

A four-way stretch material in the forefoot area offers a more responsive section for the toes to spread naturally. This Flex Zone gives the foot more freedom to move, thus making each step smoother and more agreeable.

The overlay system has been anatomically placed to provide the right amount of security for the entire foot. Only a few stitched sections were added to the upper to keep the integrity of the otherwise open structure of the upper unit.

The Slip-Proof Laces feature double-eyelets that allow the runner to add more security to the heel section. When the shoelaces are looped in it, the second eyelet would cause the collar to be pulled towards the front, thus making the fit more customizable.

The ETC Sock Liner is an anti-microbial add-on above the main cushioning system. It delivers additional cushioning and keeps the interior environment healthy.
