I am thoroughly impressed with the New Balance Vazee Summit Trail V2 and while I may have been so with version one as well, I’m more than happy to have gotten my feet into this one.

So far, I really like the feel the shoe provides on my feet.

  • 98 / 100 | Road Trail Run | | Level 5 expert

The Vazee Summit Trail v2 is just plain fun to run. Nimble, supportive and protective it inspires confidence and is fast on any terrain except maybe severe off cambers. Likely to little shoe for most for long ultras, for shorter runs taken lively it is a great option. The design and combination of materials and features brings the weight way down for a trail runner to 8.6 oz yet it does not compromise performance in any way, at any pace, or most any terrain. We would reserve judgment on upper durability and performance in heat until we have more miles on them.

  • The 2nd iteration of the Vazee Summit utilizes the same technologies as the older version. This is to ensure that the underfoot experience remains the same. The only major change is in the upper of the shoe.
  • The New Balance Vazee Summit v2 features the new internal cleatie construction for a more sock-like feel. It works perfectly with the Fantom Fit design, which also delivers a seamless fit.

The Vazee Summit v2 is available in standard running shoe length. New Balance offers the shoe in medium (D) and wide (2E) widths for the men’s version. For women, the shoe is available in medium (B) and wide (D) widths. The heel and the forefoot areas have medium to narrow measurements.

The outsole of the New Balance Vazee Summit v2 is made of Hydrohesion Rubber.  This rubber material provides maximum traction on varied surfaces. Along with it are the numerous lugs that clamp onto different terrains with ease.

The shoe also utilizes a ¾ Rockstop protection plate. It is strategically placed between the outsole and the midsole to deliver reliable protection against sharp objects on the outdoor topography.

The midsole of the Vazee Summit v2 features a full-length REVlite foam. It provides a very light and soft underfoot cushioning. It also delivers a more responsive ride for an enhanced running experience. The REVlite foam is also present in the NB 1400 v6.

The New Balance Vazee Summit v2 is an affordable shoe that uses an open mesh upper material that provides maximum breathability, keeping the foot well-ventilated, even in warm running conditions. The open mesh is also lightweight and durable.

For an irritation-free fit and enhanced comfort, the shoe features a new internal cleatie construction. It is basically a seamless internal design that prevents foot-irritation and blistering.

Working together with the seamless cleatie construction is the Fantom Fit design, which also has a seamless construction that delivers an ultra-light, supportive fit.

The Meta-Lock technology is specifically designed to lock the mid-foot down more securely. It also heightens the overall comfortable fit of the Vazee Summit v2.

This running shoe makes use of the Toe Protect material. It’s a lightweight and thin material that provides reliable toe protection while running on the trail.
