The New Balance PJ Stratford 533 is the first New Balance numeric signature model. It was first released as a team model but, PJ Ladd, a pro skater, contributed a lot to the design and improvement of the shoe.  The skate shoe was linked to him and hence, the presence of his name “PJ” on the official shoe model name.
