This workout shoe from New Balance is designed to meet the demands of strenuous physical activities. The leather material provides a supportive upper while the inside is kept cool through the perforations in the quarter and mudguard sections.

The underside of the 824 Trainer is lined with rubber. This material is durable and slip-resistant. The tread pattern on this model enhances traction and ensures full contact with the ground for a planted feel.

The midfoot area features the QUIX compound. This flexible rubber provides a solid base during side-to-side movements and enhances traction of the outsole.

The 824 Trainer uses the N2 technology. The brand claims that this platform is durable and delivers a responsive cushioning. It reduces shock directed at the foot to prevent injuries or discomfort.

The inside bottom is lined with a soft insert. It aims to reduce discomfort and adds another layer of protection for the foot.

The New Balance 824 Trainer utilizes a leather upper. The material causes the foot chamber to get warm while in use. To compensate for this, perforations are placed in the mudguard and quarter sections of the shoe to keep the inside ventilated.

Leather overlays reinforce such a high-abrasion area as the toe box. They are also used in the midfoot to enhance lateral stability of the upper. At the back, a leather overlay serves as an external heel clip that securely holds the back of the foot and prevents it from wobbling.

The trainer employs a traditional lace-up closure. The flat laces are threaded through punched eyelets, allowing users to customize the fit of the upper. The padded tongue is covered in mesh fabric to promote breathability. This structure also keeps the instep comfortable.

The collar is also padded. It serves to provide comfort and support in the ankle area.
