  • The New Balance 711 v3 Mesh Trainer is designed for women who like to mix style and functionality. This lightweight workout trainer helps women achieve their fitness goals without feeling weighed down by their footwear.
  • The footgear retains the major technologies from the 711 v2, such as the CUSH+ midsole, the imprinted foam comfort collar, the imprint foam comfort pillow in the heel, and the rubber outsole.
  • The majority of the changes are noticeable in the upper. The panel-like structure at the midfoot is no longer present in the 711 v3 Mesh Trainer. Instead, it uses synthetic overlays to accentuate its simple style. Thermoplastic polyurethane is present at the back which keeps the rearfoot steady during cross-training.

The New Balance 711 v3 Mesh Trainer caters to the unique shape and dynamics of women’s feet. It comes in US sizes 5 to 12. The footwear is available in B - Medium and D - Wide width profiles. New Balance offers an online Fit Finder tool which assists consumers in finding the correct shoe size.

The underside of the New Balance 711 v3 Mesh Trainer is lined with rubber. This compound is made to be hard-wearing, flexible, and grippy. The high-friction areas such as the forefoot and the heel have another layer of non-marking rubber to enhance traction and durability.

Flex grooves are found in the forefoot. These deep furrows facilitate natural foot flexion for a smooth heel-to-toe transition while walking or running as well as flexibility for plyometrics.

The New Balance 711 v3 Mesh Trainer employs the CUSH+ midsole. This foam technology is engineered to be 13% softer compared to other lightweight foams. It is crafted to be durable and responsive to movements. It also absorbs shock which allows it to maintain a comfortable platform for the foot.

The heel features an imprint foam comfort pillow. This structure helps reduce pressure in the rearfoot, amplifying the comfort offered by the midsole.

Inside the shoe is a removable memory foam insert. It contours to the shape of the foot thereby providing full coverage and support. Because it is removable, users could replace it with custom orthotics if needed.

The upper of the New Balance 711 v3 Mesh Trainer utilizes mesh. This fabric delivers structure and support to the upper. It is also designed to be breathable to keep the inside aerated during intense workout sessions.

Synthetic overlays protect such high-wear areas as the eyestay and the toe box. They also serve as a decorative element on the quarters. Some color options of the footwear feature overlays in a half-moon pattern.

The rearfoot is reinforced with TPU. This component holds the heel steady during dynamic movements.

A traditional lace-up closure secures the foot in place. It allows users to customize the fit by merely tightening or loosening the laces. The lightly padded tongue protects the instep from becoming irritated by the laces.

The collar features an imprint foam comfort that aims to reduce the pressure in the ankle area and prevent chafing. In some color variants, the collar has the same design as the heel pillow.


New Balance has released two new iterations of the New Balance 711 v3 Mesh Trainer. One features a heathered knit upper, while the other is a special release to help raise funds. Though the facade may look different from the original, the technologies used on the sole unit remains the same.

As the name implies, this model features a heathered knit fabric. Heathered knitting is a process wherein yarns in different shades of gray, or gray and other colors, are tightly woven together to produce a toned-down hue.

This iteration is part of the Lace Up for the Cure Collection, a collaboration with the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer. From each product sold from the collection, New Balance has pledged to donate 5% to the foundation. The Pink Ribbon 711 v3 Mesh Trainer uses the same upper material as the original, but has pink, the color representing breast cancer, outlining the N logo, the tongue, the collar, and part of the heel.
