New Balance 574 Art School History
The New Balance began operating in the early 1900s as a provider of footwear with superb arch support and orthopedic sneakers. They continued offering high-quality footwear throughout the 20th century and guided by their unique slogan “Endorsed by No One.” Instead of inking celebrities to back their products, they spent their resources in developing technologies for quality merchandises.
Later on, the New Balance reached the national stage through their quality baseball and track and field footwear launched in the 1930s. In the middle of the 70s, physical fitness and running became the famous pastimes; thus NB started offering running sneakers as well. The New Balance 320 was named the best-running shoe in 1976 by the Runner’s World magazine. This recognition further catapulted the sales of the NB. More and more runners clamored to get their share of the NB running footwear.
In 1988, NB combined their two models to give rise to a stylish yet functional model called the 574. This model was named as the original mash-up and became the symbol of creativity and originality. This running kick has the ENCAP technology which works to enhance the comfort and protection. In 2003, this model had been reissued bearing the same elements but offered in a multitude of colorways.
