New Balance 420 Deconstructed History
Deconstruction is a fashion fad that revolves around the idea of unfinished or misplacing details of apparel to manifest a sense of style. It first ran in the fashion world media like ripped clothes or pants and most commonly represented by replacing common materials with unusual ones. This rebellious trend became popular when it was first introduced to the public and is since then progressing into a staple in fashion platforms.
Designers in all sorts of field experimented with this incomplete look including shoe companies. A common practice of these companies would involve old popular models that were released in the 70s or 80s and redesigning those silhouettes in a crude and under constructed way. Several enterprises participate in this chic including prominent ones like New Balance.
One shoe model from New Balance's deconstructed line up was the remodeling of their 80s famous runner, the New Balance 420. Its low top profile was reconstructed in numerous ways as manifested in a multitude of colorways. Created to serve as a running sneaker, the NB 420 gradually penetrated the sneaker world with its sleek and conservative silhouette.
The New Balance 420 Deconstructed is an upgrade to its initial release with the inclusion of a REVlite midsole which provides the same durability and responsiveness of a regular foam outsole but weighs 30% less resulting in a lighter stride. Premium suede with fused overlays is utilized for its upper completing its smooth tonal look.

An infused New Balance "N" logo is also visible along the lateral panels. A tongue tab which complements the dominant color of the upper is branded with the New Balance logo which is the same color as the heel counter.
The unisex edition of the New Balance 420 Deconstructed deviates from the tan tinted colorway.
