Cotton denim uppers are blended in with suede and textile to break the muted hues. Notable Features

As stated by its name, the New Balance 420 Cotton Denim utilizes "cotton denim" elements as observed on its "N" side saddle vamp branding and at the heel tab. The design on these accents portrays a fabric-like material that alternates navy and white dashes that is complemented by an Arctic Fox white pigment on the dominant upper.

New Balance 420 Cotton Denim History

New Balance had been continuing to provide the public feet with retro options for everyday wear. It has been this pattern for a few decades now, and the company never seem to be hindered though it has been passed on from one conglomerate company to another. Many loyalists would flock to the brand especially the iterations that are easy to wear like the New Balance 420.

The New Balance 420 was first witnessed in 1982 and was initially built for running as with many retro New Balance shoes. Its low profile appeal garnered a fair amount of following back in the day which can be accounted for by the ENCAP cushioning tech, a revolutionary foam in the 80s. What the ENCAP does is that it diffuses the impact upon strike into the surface of the foot which in turn would stabilize it. Aside from the ENCAP technology, the original 420 also uses a Lunaris Pillow which acts somewhat like memory foam and absorbs the force of the footsteps when touching the ground.

Decades after its silence, the 420 was resurrected into popularity status in 2008 alongside another classic iteration which is the 320. Both these shoes were a massive hit, but the 420 picked up a more lifestyle appeal among its consumers. Though the 320 remained a retro-specific model, the 420's sleek image was reinvented in numerous colorway combinations possible.

Of course, revamping the retro sneaker would always spare one for the ladies. An example of this female infused model is the New Balance 420 Cotton Denim which sprinkles grey pigments in a denim-natured upper. White outlines also emphasize the girly details with an "N" logo and heel tab glistening with embroidered details.
