New Balance 247 Luxe History

The New Balance 247 Luxe is the high-end version of the American footwear company’s lifestyle shoe designed for everyday use. The model took its design cues from three models: the 574, 998 and 1300. The 247 Luxe launched globally in 2017 at a suggested retail price of $120.

The New Balance 574 is a company favorite. The designers used a leftover material from one of its predecessors to create this shoe. It was once a running shoe that was eventually reissued as a casual lifestyle sneaker.

Among the 99X series, the New Balance 998 is one of the most coveted. It’s a classic sneaker that featured a large ABZORB midsole. As a shoe made of mesh and suede, it became one of the greatest products that New Balance has ever produced.

The M1300 came to the sneaker scene as a running shoe created with the company’s cutting-edge comfort and stability technologies. It is New Balance’s flagship running shoe applied with cushioned durability in the form of the ENCAP technology.

New Balance introduced the 247 series and particularly the Luxe version to a worldwide series of parties that exemplified the concept of living life from sunrise to sundown. The unveiling in each city was attended by the who’s who of fashion and entertainment. Among the places that unveiled the shoe were Paris, Shanghai, Seoul, New York, and LA.

New Balance 247 Luxe Style

The New Balance 247 Luxe is a heritage-inspired, sleek-looking silhouette. It boasts premium-grade materials that make the shoe great for dress up and dress down events. It is designed to be worn from dusk till dawn. The buttery leather upper is combined with a synthetic nubuck stretch bootie which harmonizes craftsmanship and fashion. This is easily one of New Balance’s most sought after shoes despite only being very recently released.

Fit & Sizing

The New Balance 247 Luxe is available both in men’s and women’s version. Sizes available are 4 to 14 for the men’s and 5.5 to 11 for the women’s. The heel has additional padding for a better foot lockdown. It also has a sock-like bootie construction which snugly hugs the foot. The running shoe DNA of the shoe continues to shine in this sneaker as it has decent hold and support.

Notable Features

The entire shoe is basically very prominent as it is a combination of a few of New Balance’s most recognizable shoes like the 574 and the 998. One can see hints of these iconic silhouettes in the form of the 247 Luxe. The classic, but still trendy platform allows the user to be very versatile in his or her style.

The premium look of the shoe is brought about by the Nubuck leather that is also quite durable. As this material forms a midfoot cage, the shoe continues to retain the excellent midfoot hold that was very common among the shoes that the 247 Luxe is based on.

The gum outsole is another superb feature of the shoe as it brings serious traction and durability. Style wise, it offers a contrast to the almost one color look of the upper.
