New Balance 247 Breathe History
Boston-based brand New Balance, with over a hundred years of experience in this industry, has mastered the craft of shoemaking. Thus, it is unsurprising for a new creation like the NB 247 to gain so much recognition in a short period.
A product of the fusion of the brand's three iconic models, the NB 998 and 1300 both "Made in the USA" and the NB 576, which is "Made in the UK," the first low-top NB 247 made its debut in December 2016. Just 247 pairs of this gray and dark teal “Friends and Family” edition were released and only the VIPs of the sneaker and fashion world got a hold of it.
A month later, a luxe version of this new-comer emerged and NB fans worldwide were thrilled. Made with neoprene as well as top-grade leather and donned in elegant tan, white and black hues, the pairs sold out instantly and were hailed the hottest new sneaker of the year.
Soon after, a sporty iteration surfaced. The most widely available rendition of this model, it was crafted with mesh and nubuck. It was also lauded for its modern and stylish silhouette. Quickly increasing in popularity, the NB 247, in no time, became a subject of collaborations. Top-tier retailers and global brands like Titolo, Villa and Mita have teamed up with New Balance to give this shoe their mark of approval.
The New Balance 247 Breathe made its preview in April 2017 and was put on the market on May 1 the same year. This pack showcased seven tonal pairs. The kicks in this collection were made of ultra-breathable mesh to keep wearers’ feet dry and comfy during the hottest weather. They were also outfitted in pastel colors and neutral hues to match the summer season.
