Good to know

  • New Balance made innovations to the 1569 boot and the result is the 1400v1. It's a hiking boot made to deliver comfort and style. Its contemporary look comes from the combination of leather and textile fabrics. It has a membrane that’s moisture wicking and impermeable.
  • Inherited from its predecessor, the Rollbar posting system is featured in the midsole. It’s a patented motion control technology from the American footwear company.
  • The upper is layered with Thinsulate quilted B200 lining. It’s a thin and light synthetic material that provides breathability and insulation. It only comes in select colorways.

The New Balance 1400v1 is available in standard lengths for men and women. For gents, the width profile includes B - Narrow, D - Standard, 2E - Wide, 4E - X-Wide and 6E - XX-Wide. The ladies’ width options, on the other hand, are 2A - Narrow, B - Standard, D - Wide and 2E - X-Wide.

The New Balance 1400v1 has a sturdy rubber sole that grants traction. Its firm makeup and lowered heel provide balance and stable strides. The treads and lug pattern are designed to overcome various trail surfaces.

The New Balance 1400v1 midsole is mainly made of compression-molded EVA material. It delivers cushioning and responsiveness. It is also engineered with the Rollbar posting system. A technology intended to absorb shock from the heel, provide stability and improve the wearer's gait. This TPU composite plate functions by reinforcing the medial side to increase its stiffness and to prevent the heel bone from rolling inward, or pronating. At the same time, the lateral end also stiffens and minimizes outward roll or supination. In effect, it reduces unnecessary rear foot movement consequently providing supination and pronation control.

New Balance uses a combination of leather and textile in creating the 1400v1. Its mid-cut design provides the needed ankle support, and the cushy collar foam gives that extra comfort as well. It has a protective toe overlay that guards the toe’s vulnerability against impact and a lace-up closure to lockdown the foot.

The upper construction emphasizes its waterproofness through its seam-sealed leather fabric composition, moisture-wicking internal membrane as well as its gusseted tongue. Altogether, these features help the feet dry and stay comfortable.

This product also highlights the Thinsulate insulation lining that is moisture-resistant and breathable. It’s a lightweight material designed to resist compression and maintain warmth under moderate pressure. Only the grey colorway for women and black colorway for men are endowed with this component.
