Updates to New Balance 1300
- The New Balance 1300 is a hiking boot-inspired walking shoe designed for men and women. It features a leather upper with a waterproof membrane lining the inside to keep the foot dry in wet conditions.
- The midsole is made of durable foam that protects the foot against impact. At the heel is the Rollbar posting technology that steadies the foot during the heel-to-toe motion.
- Rubber protects the underside of the trainer. It has a lug pattern somewhat similar to that of hiking boots, but less aggressive, that allows it to grip different surfaces.
New Balance 1300 size and fit
The New Balance 1300 is available in both men’s and women’s sizes. The men’s version comes in US sizes 7 to 15, including half sizes, and can be acquired in D - Medium, 2E - Wide, and 4E - Extra Wide width profiles. The women’s style is available in US sizes 5 to 12, including half sizes, and attainable in B - Medium, D - Wide, and 2E - Extra Wide width profiles. The boot features a padded tongue and collar that provides a snug and secure fit.
A layer of rubber protects the underside of the New Balance 1300. This compound is crafted to withstand everyday wear and tear brought about by walking on trails or pavements. The outsole also features a lug pattern that promotes traction on various surfaces. Compared to hiking boots, the lugs on this model aren’t as pronounced. The outsole extends to the front, creating a bumper that protects the toes against impact.
The New Balance 1300 utilizes a foam midsole that is engineered to be durable, so it doesn’t quickly lose its shape and plushness. It also attenuates shock to keep the foot protected from impact.
At the heel section of the midsole is the Rollbar posting system. This element is composed of medial and lateral posts connected by a plate that goes under the heel. It serves to keep the rearfoot steady during walks which makes it a reliable motion control walking shoe.
The upper of the New Balance 1300 utilizes leather which has a waterproof characteristic that keeps the foot dry even in wet conditions. The interior is lined with a waterproof membrane that prevents water from seeping in.
Leather overlays protect such high-wear areas as the toe box, the quarters, and the heel. They also provide style and structure to the upper.
The trainer employs a lace-up structure at the midfoot with metal reinforcing the eyelets. This structure allows wearers to customize the fit of the upper. The tongue is also padded to keep the instep comfortable and the foot locked in place.
The plush collar aims to support the ankle, preventing the wearer from losing foot when traversing tricky terrains. It also securely holds the foot in place to prevent it from slipping out while walking.
