Updates to Mizuno Wave Prodigy
- The Mizuno Wave Prodigy is a running shoe that’s designed for those who have neutral pronation. It makes use of a performance-centric design to be in tune with the athleticism of its purpose. A breathable mesh serves as its cover system, and it’s supported by the DynamotionFit, a network of stretchy overlays, underlays, and eyelets that provide a pleasant in-shoe experience.
- A full-length foam carries the foot throughout the running session. It is responsible for energizing the gait cycle. Additional cushioning is given by a heel wedge. A Parallel Wave unit runs from the heel to the midfoot, and it’s meant to balance the foot and absorb impact.
- The Mizuno Wave Prodigy has a rubber underside that’s designed to fight off the debilitating effects of surface exposure and continued use. It is also the one that ensures movement control over the surfaces. Small ventilation channels disperse heat from the foot-chamber, thus providing a fresh and pleasant running experience.
Mizuno Wave Prodigy size and fit
The Mizuno Wave Prodigy was designed using the standard measurements, so it is recommended to get the usual sizes. When it comes to width, the options are D – Medium for men and B – Medium for women. The semi-curved shape of this running shoe accommodates the natural shape of the human foot.
The outsole unit of the Mizuno running shoe makes use of the X10, which is made of carbon rubber. This material is touted to be durable and hard-wearing. Its job is to protect the rest of the platform from wear and tear. It also provides traction as it adheres to the surfaces.
The Mizuno Intercool is a series of ventilation channels that are meant to disperse heat from the platform. It’s a helpful way to maintain an in-shoe environment that’s not stuffy or uncomfortable.
Flex grooves in the forefoot allow the platform to flex in tandem with the joints of the toes. Such a mechanism helps the toe-off phase to be energized.
The U4ic is a full-length cushioning foam that’s designed to provide responsive cushioning. It is advertised to be 30% lighter than another of Mizuno’s midsole compounds, the AP+.
An U4icX piece is placed in the heel section of the Wave Prodigy. This additional cushioning unit offers high-rebound cushioning and impact attenuation, traits that benefit the landing phase of the gait cycle.
A Parallel Wave plastic unit runs from the heel to the midfoot area. Its purpose is to disperse the impact energy that’s generated by the foot-strike, thus easing the act of striking the foot on the ground.
AirMesh is a soft material that is highly breathable. It has a netlike disposition, with small yet visible pores on its surface. Air can quickly be introduced in the foot-chamber via these minute ports, giving a breezy experience for the foot.
The DynamotionFit is made of stretchy fabrics and elastic eyelets. This technology’s purpose is to make the upper unit more adherent to the natural shape and bending capacity of the wearer’s foot.
Overlays are strategically stitched to the upper. These layers of synthetic material are meant to hold the foot and keep it in place. They also bolster the structural integrity of the façade.
