  • The Mizuno Wave Daichi 4 is a trail running shoe. This product features a design that is optimized for the off-road. The outsole unit is made up of a layer of rubber from Michelin, and it has an aggressive construction to elevate the gripping capacity, particularly on equally uncompromising terrains. The AP+ compound works with the Mizuno Wave sheet to support the foot and ease the heel-to-toe transitions.
  • A breathable mesh with intermingled netting offers secure and breathable coverage. It is buttressed by printed overlays on the sides and stitched-on caps on the front and sides. This blend of add-ons to the façade maintains a not-too-bulky aesthetic which may help with the overall look of the entire product.

The Wave Daichi 4 was crafted to be true to size. Runners are welcome to get a pair using their usual sizing expectations. However, it is wise to try on the shoe first or get a grasp of what other users say about the sizing scheme to fully achieve a secure and accommodating in-shoe experience.

Widthwise, the available options are D – Medium for men and B – Medium for women. Those with low or medium foot dimensions are the ones who are likely to acclimate well to the interiors of this Mizuno running shoe.

The outsole unit of the Mizuno Wave Daichi 4 uses a rubber compound from Michelin. This sheet of material is tasked with protecting the midsole from the abrasive nature of the trails. It even has a generous thickness, which allows it to last long without sacrificing the overall weight of the shoe.

Aggressive traction nodes pockmark the surface of the external pad. These seemingly haphazardly placed lugs are designed to heighten the traction capacity of the rubber sole, thus enabling precise and confident movements on the unpredictable topographies.

The XtaRide design philosophy involves the cooperation of gripping lugs and grooves to accentuate the natural motion of the foot without losing foot-to-surface stability. Such an implementation makes the shoe capable of effortlessly adapting to the uneven surfaces.

The AP+ is a lightweight yet durable technology that runs the whole length of the Mizuno Wave Daichi 4. The purpose of this foam is to cushion the landing impact generated during the foot-strike while also energizing the toe-off through its springy composition.

The Mizuno Wave is a thermoplastic sheet that is wedged in the heel part of the midsole. This proprietary tech has a wave-like structure which is touted to improve the shock-mitigating capacity of the platform. Moreover, its slightly firm nature bolsters the heel part, steadying the foot in the process. Wave is a staple of Mizuno shoes. It even graces the midsoles of decades-old series like the Wave Creation.

An OrthoLite® sockliner offers extra oomph to the underfoot experience. Its softness disperses the board-like sensation of the shoe-last. It has antimicrobial and anti-moisture capabilities which help in maintaining a clean and healthy shoe-interior.

The upper unit of the Wave Daichi 4 is comprised of a lightweight mesh. This textile has a grid-like structure for security, breathability, and stretchiness. The breathing holes have a netlike covering which acts as a filter against dust and debris.

Printed overlays adorn the lateral and medial sides while stitched-on variants fill the forefoot and heel. These features are meant to bolster the façade, preserving its upright position at all times. They also help the lacing system in locking the foot in place.

A pull-tab is stitched onto the back of the shoe. This fabric loop assists the runner when it comes to widening the opening of the upper, thus quickly and effortlessly facilitating the foot inside the compartment.
