Merrell Burnt Rock History

The Merrell Burnt Rock came from a rich archive of premium quality outdoor footwear. This highly preferred label among outdoor adventure enthusiasts and avid hikers around the globe houses a huge collection of reliable footwear and apparel. Topping its list are hiking boots, sneakers, running shoes, and sandals.

It was pioneered by Randy Merrell, who literally went to create his own path and discover a reliable trail that benefitted adventurers for many years now. Initially, from crafting Western cowboy boots, this hiking enthusiast concentrated on creating hiking boots, which inspired him to formally train in customized bootmaking.

Armed with enough know-how in boot construction and his dynamic entrepreneurial spirit, Randy endeavored to painstakingly design more flexible boots. Soon enough, Merrell started mass producing their products and then later on the brand unveiled its first hiking boots specifically designed for women. The boot had a distinguishable air cushioning unit called QForm that were made to provide supreme comfort and designed to complement the general bone structure of female wearers.

Merrell eventually went to create light trail shoes fit for the urban setting. It re-engineered its sole to fit the needs of various outdoor activities and created innovations designed to provide comfort to the feet such as its air cushioning in the heel area and patented grip technology for the outsole. All these were incorporated into one of the most likable lightweight sneakers, a hybrid between outdoor and urban footwear called the Merrell Burnt Rock.

Merrell Burnt Rock Style

The casually styled Merrell Burnt Rock is a good combination of Nubuck and outdoor-inspired features ideal in an urban setup and off road environment. It comes in a handful of colorways that looks perfectly good with bottoms made of tough fabric such as short pants, cargo trousers, work pants, denim, hiking shorts, and skirt.

Fit & Sizing

The Merrell Burnt Rock sneaker is available in men’s sizes from 7 to 15 US. It runs true to size with a medium width. The thick leather material and overlays also provide superior hold, particularly for those who wish to wear this on uneven terrain.

Notable Features

The Burnt Rock has a rubber up around the toe for added protection and durability in the forefoot. A similar feature is placed on the rear end, which is the rand that serves to insulate the region from damage and wear. As the shoe is also designed for a little outdoor experience, the shoe has carefully-constructed rubber pattern for grip on the road and on the trails.
