  • Individuals are supplied with sufficient cushioning, thanks to the footgear’s ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) midsole. Its Vibram Megagrip rubber outsole, meanwhile, helps outdoor enthusiasts traverse most types of terrain with ample traction.

The Merrell Altalight Knit is a low-top hiking shoe designed for men and women. Its knit upper sports a Stratafuse exoskeleton to give a glove-like fit. Moreover, the footgear uses a conventional lacing system, which enables wearers to get a secure and customized lockdown.

This Merrell outdoor shoe for hikers uses a Vibram outsole for surefootedness. It is made of Megagrip, a rubber compound known for its resilience to wear and tear. Its profile is filled with widely-spaced 5mm dual diamond-shaped lugs. This tread pattern is crafted to provide grip on wet and dry terrain. The outsole’s front tip covers a small portion of the forefoot zone to protect the user’s toes from various trail dangers.

The Merrell Altalight Knit features a midsole made of EVA foam, a material known to give a cushioned ride. It is paired with a patented Air Cushion technology positioned in the heel area to absorb shock from uneven trails. A lightweight Flexplate is integrated into the midsole to deliver torsional rigidity. Moreover, a Kinetic Fit Base removable insole uses a contoured design to give arch support and added comfort underfoot.

The Altalight Knit from Merrell comes with a rugged upper made of vegan-friendly knit fabric. It is reinforced with a Stratafuse exoskeleton, which provides structure and lightweight support to the footgear. Its lacing system employs a series of eyelets to help the wearer manage the shoe’s fit. A bellows tongue is incorporated into the upper to prevent debris from entering. A pull tab is found at the back of the shoe to facilitate on and off.
