Good to know

  • As a more powerful version of the Accentor Ventilator, the current model comes with a sticky outsole that features 5mm lugs. Such a lug depth ensures a grippy performance on different surfaces and trail conditions.
  • Merrell has also replaced the removable EVA footbed with the Kinetic Base insole for more flexibility and support.

The Accentor 2 Ventilator is an all-around hiker created for men and women. It features a traditional lace-up closure for a secure and adjustable fit. And since it’s low-cut, it allows the wearer to make more aggressive movements.

Like several other quality adventure footwear from Merrell, the men’s and women’s Accentor 2 Vent is equipped with the patented “Sticky Rubber” outsole. It’s constructed with dual-density rubber that has notable qualities, such as increased durability and grip.

All Merrell products have shoe-specific sole designs. This one has deeper lugs for added traction on different surfaces. It also has non-skid properties for preventing injuries on the trail.

The shoe comes with a compression-molded EVA midsole. This material has shock-absorbing qualities and offers a good level of cushioning for the foot. And since it is low-density, EVA is lighter compared to other foams commonly used in performance footwear. This makes the Accentor 2 Vent really lightweight and ideal for walking or hiking where you’re not carrying a heavy load.

As mentioned, the shoe comes with a Kinetic Base insole that takes on the shape of the foot, giving it a protective and comfortable environment.

Furthermore, this footwear is equipped with a nylon molded shank placed underneath the arch of the foot.

The Accentor 2 Vent features an upper made of Suede leather and mesh which is available in Castlerock and Blinder colors. Suede is used for the overlays, providing durable and stylish protection for the shoe. The rest of the upper is made with mesh fabric which is breathable and quick-drying.

The shoe is also equipped with a rubber toe cap which is very helpful in absorbing stress to the toe area. Since it’s made of rubber, the toe cap stretches to fit any toe and stay in place. And despite being firm and protective, it stays soft enough to provide comfort.

Furthermore, there is the Merrell Air Cushion in the heel section which is meant to provide extra support and absorb shock. This brand-exclusive technology also helps align the foot within the shoe for more stability while walking or hiking.

Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system with round laces. The bellows tongue helps keep dirt and debris from entering the shoe while creating thick padding for a snug fit.
