This gear features the Comfort Fit last. It offers a spacious forefoot which allows toe splaying. Its heel zone, on the other hand, fits snug.
The Journey Mid GTX from Meindl uses the brand’s very-own Comfort Sport sole (No. 77). The outsole extends upward at the toe area to provide a decent amount of protection on rocky terrain. Its lugs are widely spaced to prevent muck build-up.
The EVA midsole of this mid-cut day hiking boot absorbs shock and cushions the foot. Atop this structure is an Air-Active Wellness Sport footbed which enhances comfort.
The Journey Mid GTX employs a combination of durable nubuck leather and breathable mesh for its upper. To further enhance comfort and yield protection against wet encounters, the boot is lined with a Gore-Tex laminate. There are vent holes situated near the ankle area, midfoot and forefoot which amplifies airflow in and out of the boot.
For extra security on the trails, the toe and heel zones of this day hiking boot are reinforced. Its padded tongue and collar, on the other hand, optimize comfort. Its lacing system is comprised of a round lace, webbing loops and metal hardware. Lastly, a pull tab assists wearers in easy on and off.
