Updates to Meindl Antelao GTX
- The Meindl Antelao GTX is a B – category boot, which means it is equipped with the right set of features to help day hikers take on aggressive trails. Products under this category are also amply supportive.
- Its over-the-ankle upper is mostly made of suede leather. Its liner is imbued with a Gore-Tex membrane, protecting the boot from watery elements.
Meindl Antelao GTX size and fit
Meindl’s Antelao GTX is a fairly true-to-size, mid-cut day hiking footgear for men and women. Its confines are intended for wearers with regular-width feet. It comes in full and half sizes. A custom lockdown is provided by the boot’s quick lacing system. Its lace loops provide a more defined lace security just above the instep.
Developed by Vibram, the Meindl Multigrip 3 outsole offers adequate grip on various outdoor surfaces. It is engineered with multi-directional lugs which bite into uneven terrain, whether wet or dry. These aggressively designed lugs are also self-cleaning, shedding off debris and mud as the user moves from point to point. In addition, its heel is hook-like to give users a level of security and control when navigating downward slopes.
Mitigating shock on ground impact and stabilizing the hiker’s footing on unpredictable terrain is the Antelao GTX’s part EVA, part PU midsole. Its construction is noticeably thick at the heel for improved shock absorption. It also thins toward the forefoot, giving the boot a svelte silhouette.
For added cushioning underfoot, the boot comes with a removable footbed, called Comfort-fit. It is made with a combination of cork and fleece. It has prominent rearfoot borders for extra heel support.
Suede leather and mesh fabric make up the majority of the upper. Furthermore, the boot promises proper internal ventilation and protection against wetness thanks to Gore-Tex’s waterproof yet breathable liner. Its forefoot zone is engineered with a protective rand to prevent the boot from sustaining cuts and scrapes from abrasive hazards.
Completing the Antelao GTX’s upper is its quick closure system. Its combination eyelets (closed loops and open hooks) are made of metal, while its laces are purely synthetic.
