A narrow fit (more like a running shoe) provides more foot control, and the soft mid-height cuff allowed our ankles to articulate freely.
Lowa says these boots are “an extremely breathable/waterproof, lightweight, do-it-all outdoor athletic shoe” and I agree with them.
I find that I reach for them for everyday wear in addition to when I go on outdoor adventures.
Brand engineers added a pair of extra hooks on the Lowa Aerox GTX Lo Surround, thus creating its mid-height version. This upgrade enhances the boot’s capability for fastpacking. The microfiber and synthetic materials used in its upper helps minimize its weight. A Gore-Tex laminate creates a weatherproof feel.
This watertight product comes with brand-owned technologies that boost user’s trail performance. A DynaPU midsole grants durable cushioning, the Monowrap Stability Frame—as its name implies—renders stability, and a Climate Control Footbed takes care of moisture management.
Its outsole, the Lowa Surround Trac, yields ground adherence. Its heel drop (the difference between the height of the forefoot and the rearfoot) is 10 mm.
This vegan-friendly boot for hiking uses the Lowa Surround Trac outsole. Its multi-lugged facade renders traction on most types of terrain. The chevron-like boots at the perimeter grant stability over rugged surfaces. The hexagon-shaped studs at the center provide 360-degree traction.
Lowa’s Aerox GTX Mid Surround hiking boot employs a double injection DynaPU midsole. Long-lasting cushioning, rebound, and shock absorption are what this product offers. Surround Channels that move heat and moisture away from the foot are also present.
Steadiness over bumpy terrain comes from the brand-owned Monowrap Stability Frame (a feature also incorporated in Lowa Renegade GTX Mid) and Soft 900 Stabilizer. Cradling the foot is an ATC Climate Control Footbed. It has a form-fitting, breathable top layer that helps manage the temperature inside the boot; thus, yielding a more comfortable and supportive ride.
The hardwearing upper of this lightweight offering combines microfiber and synthetic. It is made waterproof, thanks to the incorporation of the Gore-Tex Surround technology. This third-party feature also provides 360-degree breathability, optimizing comfort on and off the trail. The boot’s toe and heel zones are reinforced to promote protection against scrapes and bumps.
The Aerox GTX Mid Surround’s tongue and collar are lightly padded for a cozy feel. Also, its closure system uses fabric loops and open hooks for fit management.
